The new 26,680 m2 expansion, which will provide a total facility area of 44,920 m2, has 22,000 m2 devoted to production. This project stands out for its motor testing laboratory unit, which the multinational claims is Europe's most advanced testing laboratory for medium and high voltage motors and drives.
Another of WEG's special features were the specialised pits for inserting production equipment, which were installed during the course of the construction work. These pits had their layout improved to solve problems that had been found in previous layouts.
